The Earl A. Webb Academy of Principled Leaders is the annual symposium for new chapter presidents. Here, new chapter presidents gather with our National President to mutually explore the challenges and opportunities of the most important office in Sigma Tau Gamma.
Most of the cost of participation in the Academy, including travel, lodging, meals, and program, is paid by a grant from the Sigma Tau Gamma Foundation, Inc. The philosophy is that no chapter or chapter president, regardless of financial circumstance, should be denied this critical opportunity.
The man for which this event is named for, Earl A. Webb, Alpha '40, is affectionately known as "Mr. Sig Tau" because of his unparalleled leadership over more than 60 years as a Chapter President, National President, Foundation President, member of the Board of Directors and Foundation Trustee. Knowing that he is a brother all Sig Tau's should aspire to emulate, particularly those entrusted with the office of president, the Fraternity Board of Directors named the Academy in his honor.
The Earl A. Webb Academy of Principled Leaders was launched under the inspired leadership of Ronald W. Erickson, Beta Psi '68, 15th National President, in 1985. It was the first academy for new chapter presidents among all college fraternities. It is now emulated by many other NIC fraternities.
